Hello Colleagues,
we have to think about a scenario where the SAP PI Interfaces shouldn't be unavailable less then 10 min. roundabout, in a 7x24 scenario in future.
This prevents regularly maintenance activities for the SAP PI System.
One Idea was, to have an second productive SAP PI beside to the existing one. Like a mirror, equal to the current productive PI System but not as HA Cluster. As a second standalone system.
In the front of both productive PI's a Loadbalancer Infrastructure which are able to root the incoming traffic to PI Production 1 or to PI Production 2.
Interfaces (Integration scenarios) on both are equal.
Now e.g. you should able to switch all traffic to PI Production 1 and PI Production 2 is free of interface traffic for maintenance.
After maintenance work on PI Production 2 you can switch the interface traffic to PI Production 2 and now is PI Production 1 free for maintenance too.
What do you think, could be this a practicable solution?
In a real HA Cluster Environment you still have the problem regarding regularly maintenance activity. For the maintenance problem, the HA Cluster isn't a solution.
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Jochen
