SAP PI planning

Hi guys, I

1. We currently have 2 PI systems: PI dev and PI production.
2. We have installed a standalone AAE (advance adapter engine) on the DMZ ,for security reasonse, and configured it to work with the PI dev .

My Q:

Is it possible to use the same AAE both for PI dev  and PI production? Or a dedicated installation of another AAE should be carried out to connect the production?
