B2B integration cockpit -difference between as2 and edi separator

hi

i am using PI 7.40 single stack.B2B integration cockpit is installed and i have to use B2B TOOLKIT 1.0 for integration.

my scneario is inbound edifact orders.

when to use AS2 and EDISeparator adapters of B2B toolkit. What is the difference and when to use which.

any help in understanding the difference of it will be helpful.
